These paintings are a pictorial manifestation of a book. In this method, I painted countless images from photograph collections that I’ve gathered into one page. The photograph collections composed with fine quality images selected through the process of publication were a great subject matter for painting, and every single page of the collections was, to me, like a problem to solve. Whether I like it or not, this method that I devised – painting a whole book – worked as some kind of mechanism that made me paint a picture continuously without thinking. The condensed images produced on the canvas are thought to be different manifestations of artistic force that has been piled up in my mind. This embracement and expression of my artistic force through the condensation and expansion of a vast amount of information is a challenge, and also a discipline for my painting.
